MAASREFINERY, A NEWLY BUILT SPECIALTY OILS 100% TOLL REFINERY

MaasRefinery in the Rotterdam harbour started production week 29 2009. This highly automated plant is capable of refining 150 tons per day for all refining steps (degumming, bleaching, winterizing and deodorizing) as small as 5 tons batch sizes. The patented Crown Diflow type deodorizer has been selected in order to minimize trans fatty acid formation.

State of the art

The plant is designed for physical refining however, alternatively alkaline refining can be applied. The system is designed for maximum heatrecovery and is a state of the art installation also in terms of environmental, health & safety compliance. The deodorizer is equipped with a double thermosyphon system and with an ice-condensation vacuum system.

Certification

The refinery is certified ISO 22000 (HACCP and GMP+), Kosher, Halal, SKAL and ISO 9001 and operates 7 days 24 hours. The plant is linked to Maastank, a 38.000 m3 tank terminal for vegoils and foodstuff with 10 meter draft harbour access in the centre of the Rotterdam harbour.

Flexibility

Logistical flexibility is outstanding; crude oils can be received by water, by road, in flexitankers, in tankcontainers, IBC's and drums. Maastank is also equipped with a HACCP filling line for IBC's and drums.

MaasRefinery also offers facilities to melt hard fats such cocoabutter, sheabutter etc. which are supplied in blocks and boxes. Also packing in various box types can be offered.

Location

The refinery is situated about 20 minutes from the 2 main container harbours in the Rotterdam port and about 2 kilometres from the main road A15.
